"Personalanalytics" Software
Software for the Secure Collection of Digital Behavioral Data
PersonalAnalytics is developed at the Human Aspects of Software Engineering Lab (HASEL) at the University of Zurich, enables researchers and citizens to collect and analyze digital behavioral data. Depending on the configuration, data such as the use of applications and websites, aggregated mouse and keyboard inputs, work on documents, etc., are captured. Depending on the study, small pop-ups are also used at regular intervals to inquire about current well-being (so-called experience sampling). Finally, the so-called Retrospection provides a visual overview and summary of the data, allowing users of the software to reflect on their own digital usage behavior.
To protect privacy, the data is stored exclusively locally on your own device. At the end of a study, participants can voluntarily share their data with the research team, after having the option to select which data will be shared and whether and how this data will be anonymized for data donation.
